Louisiana Derby Picks

As the Louisiana Derby is a race that contains horses with not a huge amount of competitive racing experience, it can often be tough picking out your Louisiana Derby picks. Having said that, some of the Louisiana Derby entries in 2020 have shown a lot of promise and do stand out from the pack.

Enforceable is the current favorite for the race. It has a lot of great experience in graded races, more so than any other horse in the field and as a result it earns its favorite tag. Wells Bayou has made a good step up in the grades, looking at ease no matter what obstacle was in its way.

The only concern is the extra distance that it may not be used to. Chestertown has a lot of hype behind it and for good reason. It has great stamina and will be well able to last the running over this longer distance. Shake Some Action has great pedigree and has shown some signs of being well able to contend in a race such as the Louisiana Derby.

Louisiana Derby Betting

There are a lot of great online horse betting sites that can be used if you are looking to get a slice of the action for the Louisiana Derby betting in 2020. You can spot some potential bolters for your Louisiana Derby picks. Some of the most popular horse racing betting platforms today are the likes of Amwager, TVG and BetAmerica.

For each of these platforms, you will have a great range of different markets to choose from for the Louisiana Derby. You will also be able to live stream the race through these sites if you wish to do so. By having an account with each of these operators, you will be able to shop around and get the best prices for the 2020 Louisiana Derby betting markets.

Some of the more popular types of Louisiana Derby betting include:

Place Only

As there is such a stacked field at the Louisiana Derby with a lot of potential Louisiana Derby picks, you may want to focus your efforts on horses that you think will finish inside the top places at a nice price. If you think this will be the case for a given horse but you doubt their chances of winning, you can use the place only market.

Betting Without the Favorite

Most big races will have a market that allows you to get a price for a horse to win or place by removing the main Louisiana Derby picks out of the race. This is ideal when there is a heavy favorite for the race, allowing you more flexibility with your wagers.

All horses that are three years old are eligible to enter the race and it takes place on a dirt surface over one and three-sixteenth miles. The purse is $1,000,000 and it is one of the most important races to prepare for the Kentucky Derby. The race is held on a left-handed track and it has been taking place since 1894.

During that time, it has been held at a number of different tracks. Pat Day holds the most wins in the Louisiana Derby as a jockey, having won on five different occasions. The Road to Kentucky Derby

The Kentucky Derby is perhaps the most highly anticipated race of the year. The Road to the Kentucky Derby is a series of preparation races. There are three different ways to qualify for the Derby, through North America races, the Japan Road or the European Road.

The entry to the Kentucky Derby is based on points that are accumulated during these respective series of races. There are 35 races in total that are part of the Road to the Kentucky Derby, 19 of which are for the prep season, with the rest being part of the championship season.

The Louisiana Derby is the first race as part of the second leg of the championship series. The 1st place finisher will get 100 points, with 2nd getting 40 points, 3rd getting 20 points and 4th getting 10 points. There will only be twenty Kentucky Derby horses at the starting line.
